Curriculum development has been part of my work for over a decade. In 2012, in collaboration with the 1st Judicial District Attorney’s office in Jefferson County, Colorado, I developed the state’s first sexting curriculum as an alternative to legal consequences for adolescents and have been running that program ever since.
Overwhelmingly, parents told me the same thing: every kid could benefit from this information, not just the ones who ended up in my program. Every teenager is facing the pressures of 21st-century technology and trying to figure out how to navigate it. That’s what this work is built on.
